Is the Bordeaux CityPass worth it?
Yes, in the vast majority of cases — provided you choose the right duration and visit enough sites. Whether the pass pays off depends on your itinerary: a visitor who only enters one museum and one monument won't get the same value as a couple combining transport, experiences and museums.
To help you estimate your savings based on your trip, we have created an interactive calculator: select your duration, your profile and the sites you want to visit, and the tool automatically calculates how much you save compared to individual admission prices.
➜ Calculate my savings with the Bordeaux CityPass
Example: an adult couple for a weekend in Bordeaux (48h CityPass at €47 / person)
Here is a sample 2-day itinerary and what each admission would cost without the CityPass:
For a couple, that represents €68 in total savings over a weekend.
In general, the 48h CityPass pays for itself as soon as you visit La Cité du Vin, Les Bassins des Lumières and use public transport — those three elements alone come to €49 in individual admissions, already more than the price of the pass.

Which duration should I choose: 24h, 48h, 72h or 96h?
The 24h (€37) is ideal if you are in Bordeaux for a short stay (less than 24 "usable" hours). For example: you arrive in early or mid-afternoon and want to make the most of the city until the same time the following day.
The 48h (€48) is the best fit for a classic weekend (2 days). It gives you enough time to discover the highlights — La Cité du Vin, Les Bassins des Lumières, a few museums or monuments — without feeling rushed.
The 72h (€56) is recommended if you have 3 days in the city (a long weekend). It offers more flexibility in planning and leaves time to add a longer outing, such as a day trip to Saint-Émilion, which is included in the pass.
The 96h (€62) is the ideal duration if you are staying 4 days or prefer a more leisurely pace. It costs just €6 more than the 72h (€62 vs €56) for an extra 24 hours — perfect for spreading out your visits and exploring the surrounding area.
Do I need to book in advance with the CityPass?
With the CityPass, you can simply show up at the entrance of partner sites with your valid card — no advance booking required. There are a few exceptions to note:
- Tour Pey-Berland: book directly at pey-berland.fr
- Moon Harbour Distillery: book by phone at +33 (0)5 56 29 86 60
- City tour of your choice (commented river cruise, tourist train or guided walking tour): book through the Bordeaux Tourist Office, in person or by phone at +33 (0)5 56 00 66 00
These bookings can be made before activating your CityPass.
After purchasing online, where do I collect my Bordeaux CityPass?
Your CityPass card must be collected at the Bordeaux Tourist Office, located at 12 cours du 30 Juillet, upon presentation of the voucher received at the time of purchase.
You can collect it in advance without any issue: the CityPass is only activated at the moment of first use, whether on public transport or at the entrance of a partner site.
Bordeaux Tourist Office opening hours:
Monday to Saturday: 9am – 6pm
Sundays and public holidays: 10am – 5pm
Closed on 25 December and 1 January.
There is no digital version of the CityPass. The voucher received upon online purchase is not a CityPass: it is simply the proof to present at the counter to collect your physical card.
How do I activate my CityPass?
The CityPass activates automatically upon first use, whether on public transport or at the entrance of a partner site. You can therefore collect your card in advance: the validity period only begins when you use it for the first time.
On public transport (tram, bus, river shuttle): scan your card on the reader for each journey, including connections.
At museums and monuments: present your card at the entrance and staff will scan it for you.
The card is valid for 24, 48, 72 or 96 consecutive hours from the moment of first use. Once this period has elapsed, access to sites and transport will be refused. For example, a 24h CityPass activated on Monday at 2:00pm will be valid until Tuesday at 1:59pm.
Can I use my CityPass at park-and-ride facilities?
Yes. The CityPass is valid at all 28 park-and-ride facilities in the TBM network. On entry, scan your card on the reader to open the barrier, and do the same when leaving. Park-and-ride facilities are open from 5am to 1am.

Can I visit the same attraction more than once?
No, each attraction included in the CityPass can only be visited once. With 22 sites, museums and experiences available, the pass is designed to help you discover as much of Bordeaux and its surroundings as possible during your chosen duration.
How do I access the special offers mentioned?
In addition to the included sites and attractions, the CityPass gives you access to preferential rates at numerous partners: restaurants, shops, activities and other experiences in Bordeaux. Simply present your valid CityPass card.
Find the full list of partners and their offers at bordeauxcitypass.com.
Is there a different price for children?
Yes. There is a Bordeaux CityPass Junior for children aged 6 to 17, with the same benefits as the adult pass. Children under 6 enjoy free entry at most included sites and do not need a CityPass.
Duration | Adult | Junior (6–17 years) |
|---|---|---|
24h | €37 | €22 |
48h | €48 | €30 |
72h | €56 | €37 |
96h | €62 | €43 |
To assess whether the Junior CityPass is worth it based on your child's age and the sites you plan to visit, consult our children's pricing comparison table by age.
My trip has been cancelled — can I get a refund?
Yes, a refund is possible provided the card has not yet been collected at the Tourist Office. Simply notify us at least 48 hours before the planned collection date so that we can process the refund.
However, once the card has been collected, the CityPass is non-refundable. It remains valid for 12 months from the date of purchase, so you can use it on a future visit to Bordeaux or pass it on to someone else.
If my CityPass is lost or stolen, will it be replaced?
No. In the event of loss, theft or non-use, the CityPass will not be replaced or refunded. We therefore strongly recommend keeping it safe throughout your stay.
Furthermore, should a partner site become temporarily unavailable for reasons beyond our control (strike, unexpected closure, etc.), the Bordeaux Tourist Office cannot be held responsible.
