Cité du Vin
The Cité du Vin is impressive, with its swirling curves and 55-metre tower. This exhibition and tasting centre is better than a showcase and more than a museum, offering visitors complete immersion in the universe and civilisations of wine - every wine in the world!
To enjoy free access to both the permanent tour and the belvedere for a wine tasting, the CityPass must be validated at the ticket office of the Cité du Vin absolutely before noon. Additional charge of €5 for entry after 12 pm (to be paid on site).

With the Museum of Aquitaine, Bordeaux has one of the largest provincial history museums. The collections display Prehistoric times, Antiquity, the Middle-Ages, the 18th century (the city’s golden age), and other periods in time that make up the area’s rich past.

Fine Arts Museum
The museum allows visitors to take a close look at masters of European art (Matisse, Picasso, Renoir, Rubens...) as well as Bordeaux’s native painters (André Lhote, Odilon Redon…). The south wing is dedicated to classical 16th to 18th century painting and the north wing hosts 19th and 20th century art.
Located in front of the city hall gardens, the gallery hosts the major temporary exhibitions.
From 18 May to 18 September 2022 at the Galerie des Beaux-Arts, major retrospective of Rosa Bonheur, an extraordinary, innovative and inspiring artist.

The journey through the museum is to propose a contemporary approach to natural history, accompanied by interactive mechanisms and a multimedia spectacle.
The permanent section presents around 3500 specimens in Hôtel de Lisleferme, where a space is to be totally dedicated to children under 6: “the Museum for little ones”.

A private 18th century mansion has been transformed into the Decorative Arts Museum and Design. It presents a collection of furniture, ceramics, glass, gold, tapestries and a large Design section.

Retracing the evolution of customs administration, the museum’s collection
lays out the history of customs policing using uniforms, tools, graphics, military objects and taxidermy. The most coveted exhibition piece is a painting by Claude Monet « Cabane des douaniers, effet d’après-midi », depicting… a customs hut!

Submarine Base
It is one of the five bases built by the Germans on the Atlantic coast to house submarine fleets during the Second World War.
This huge bunker (1941-1943) has now been converted into a temporary exhibition space dedicated to contemporary art.

Cailhau Gate - Porte Cailhau
Built between 1493 and 1496 on the site of an old defensive gatehouse, this was the main entrance to the city from the river for almost two centuries. While it was no doubt built as a defensive structure, the Renaissance brought with it a new architectural language: mullioned windows and sculpted decorations.A 23 metre high panoramic view of the river.

The Moon Harbour distillery was set up in an old bunker, where they have
been producing the first whisky that is 100% Bordeaux since 2017. The two
