Through digital and interactive technologies, the Permanent Exhibition immerses you in the world of wine and celebrates vineyards from all over the world. A spectacular, original and unforgettable journey!
To enjoy free access to both the permanent exhibition and the belvedere for a wine tasting, the CityPass (not the voucher) must be validated at the ticket office of the Cité du Vin. Access will be refused automatically if the card has expired.

The digital art centre, located in the Bordeaux submarine base, is presenting a monumental immersive exhibition entitled "MATISSE, a symphony of colors" an invitation to discover the painter's flamboyant universe and "Frida Kahlo, at the very heart". 

Good to know from 31/08/26 to 02/10/26, double programming but only one exhibition is included in the CityPass offer: choose between OCEAN (on Saturday) or MATISSE (from Sunday to Friday).

With the Museum of Aquitaine, Bordeaux has one of the largest provincial history museums. The collections display Prehistoric times, Antiquity, the Middle-Ages, the 18th century (the city’s golden age), and other periods in time that make up the area’s rich past.

Retracing the evolution of customs administration, the museum’s collection lays out the history of customs policing using uniforms, tools, graphics, military objects and taxidermy.

Jean Dupas & Co. The great Art Deco
This is the first retrospective dedicated to the artist of Bordeaux origin Jean Dupas (1882-1964), painter and decorator, cartoonist and posterist, who was one of the major figures of Art Deco, in France as in the United States. 

Musée Mer Marine houses a rich private collection of art and historical objects, exhibited in a modern, stripped-back manner. The” MMM” presents treasures from naval heritage and educates visitors on - among other things - marine adventures, sailing facts, the beauty of nature, and saving the oceans.
The CityPass gives access to the permanent collection + the ‘Gallery’ room devoted to the great masters of the shore + the temporary exhibition ‘Save the Mermaids’.
 

On 22 April 2026, the museum, housed in two buildings listed as historic monuments, finally reopens its doors, marking a milestone in a vast project that will continue until 2027. Three exhibitions reflect the museum's many facets, from decorative arts to contemporary design, including the study of techniques, craftsmanship and expertise.
 

The museum allows visitors to take a close look at masters of European art (Matisse, Picasso, Renoir, Rubens...) as well as Bordeaux’s native painters (André Lhote, Odilon Redon…). The south wing is dedicated to classical 16th to 18th century painting and the north wing hosts 19th and 20th century art.

Located in front of the city hall gardens, the gallery hosts temporary exhibitions from April to October.

The journey through the museum is to propose a contemporary approach to natural history, accompanied by interactive mechanisms and a multimedia spectacle.
The permanent section presents around 3500 specimens in Hôtel de Lisleferme, where a space is to be totally dedicated to children under 6: “the Museum for little ones”.
 

Housed in a former warehouse for colonial goods, the Museum of Contemporary Art is dedicated to emerging contemporary work. Many exhibitions are put on throughout the year.

Behind the beautiful 18th century façade, you will discover a museum on the wine trade in the Chartrons district. This former trading house was built by an Irish wine-merchant. You will taste wine in the vaulted cellars.

Located in the Bassins à flot district, the museum traces the history of the Port de la Lune through ancient maps, instruments, models and portraits of famous Bordelais (ship makers, adventurers, corsairs, etc.). This museum brings Bordeaux’s maritime past to life again, from Burdigala to the contemporary era.

Built between 1493 and 1496 on the site of an old defensive gatehouse, this was the main entrance to the city from the river for almost two centuries. While it was no doubt built as a defensive structure, the Renaissance brought with it a new architectural language: mullioned windows and sculpted decorations.

Reopening this summer. The Saint-Michel freestanding bell tower, which the people of Bordeaux call “La Flèche” (The Spire), is 114 metres high. For the more courageous, a 47 metre climb to the panoramic terrace to enjoy an unforgettable view over the city and the river.

The Saint-André cathedral’s tower was built in the 15th century, and it was only in 1863 that a monumental statue of Our Lady of Aquitaine was raised on top. At the top of some 231 steps and from a height of 50 metres, this is undoubtedly the finest panoramic viewing platform in the city!

Built in 1878 for the Jewish Consistory of Bordeaux, the architect Charles Durand used an eclecticism which mingled medieval art with oriental references. It is considered as one of the most beautiful synagogues in Europe.

This former property of the King of France Henri IV and his wife, the Queen Margot, has an amazing collection of furniture from different periods. The Château is still lived in by the Ducal family of Sabran-Pontevès. The Castle and its beautiful Park are listed as a Historical Monument.

Guarding the River Gironde, a square fort was built by Vauban. With the Citadel of Blaye and Fort Pâté it forms the barricade of the estuary. This former garrison site, comprising armouries, lodgings and barracks, is regularly restored. Augmented reality tour available.

This masterpiece of Romanesque art, known as the “beacon” of the Entre-deux-Mers region, is remarkable for its sculpture and its view. The abbey is a listed UNESCO monument and provides a lovely outdoor setting, where stone and nature comes together beautifully.

The philosopher Montesquieu was born, lived and wrote in this family estate. This gothic château is protected by its lake and the surrounding moat.

Moon Harbour distillery is set up inside a WWII bunker and produces the first 100% Bordeaux whisky since 2017. The fortress of Blaye was built in the 17th century by Vauban, famous engineer of King Louis XIV. This citadel, which overlooks the Gironde estuary, is listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The visit allows you to understand the genius of Vauban and to discover the defence system of the fortress.
