Planning a Médoc wine tour from Bordeaux? Join a small group of no more than 8 guests for an exclusive afternoon on the left bank — where the world's most prestigious châteaux and legendary Cabernet Sauvignon-driven wines await.
2:20 PM – Your English-speaking guide meets you in front of La Cité du Vin in Bordeaux, welcomes the group, and walks you through the afternoon ahead.
2:30 PM – Departure for your Bordeaux to Médoc wine tour in a comfortable 9-seat minivan. As you leave the city behind, your guide sets the scene: the history of Bordeaux's great wine estates, the dominance of Cabernet Sauvignon on the left bank, and the appellations that have shaped the wine world — Margaux, Saint-Julien, Saint-Estèphe, Pauillac. The Médoc landscape, with its flat gravel soils and endless rows of vines, is unlike anything you've seen before.
- First stop — a Cru Bourgeois estate. Your Médoc château visit begins at a certified organic property, where you'll discover how these iconic wines are made and how the vineyard is managed sustainably. The visit concludes with a guided tasting of 3 wines from the estate, spanning three prestigious appellations: Haut-Médoc, Moulis-en-Médoc, and Margaux.
- Second stop — a Grand Cru Classé from the legendary 1855 Classification. We then head to the village of Margaux for the centrepiece of this 1855 classification wine tour: a visit to a Grand Cru Classé estate practising organic or biodynamic farming. After a tour of the winemaking facilities, you'll sit down for a tasting of 3 wines from one of the Médoc's most celebrated properties — a rare opportunity to taste history in the glass.
Around 5:30 PM – Time to head back to Bordeaux. Depending on timing, we'll stop in front of the iconic Château Margaux for a photo opportunity. On the return journey, your guide will share their top picks for Bordeaux's best restaurants, wine bars, and local specialties worth seeking out.
6:30 PM – Return to Bordeaux (± 5 min.).
