This introduction to Bordeaux wines will explore two aspects:
Bordeaux vineyard essentials
- Get to know Bordeaux grape varieties;
- Gain a behind-the-scenes insight into the vineyard and cellar;
- Uncover the secrets of blending
– the hallmark of Bordeaux wines;
- Discover the region’s PDOs* and their wonderful specificities.
Wine tasting fundamentals
- Become acquainted with aromas and how to identify them;
- Learn how to put your tasting sensations into words;
- Taste 5 Bordeaux PDO* wines, guided by your tutor.

This introductory workshop will be held in Bordeaux, at 1 cours du XXX Juillet.
How to get here:
- Quinconces stop, located 1 minute by foot from the Bordeaux Wine School (on the B, C and D tramway lines and the bus 2 line).
- From Bordeaux Saint-Jean train station: 35 minutes by foot, 15 minutes by bike, 20 minutes by tram, 10 minutes by car (outside peak periods).
- From Bordeaux-Mérignac airport: 1 hour by tram, 20 minutes by car (outside peak periods).
- From Place de la Bourse: 10 minutes by foot, 5 minutes by bike.
