13:30 PM Meet your guide in front of the Bordeaux Tourist Information Office at 12 cours du 30 Juillet.
Departure to Saint-Emilion. Along the way, your guide will tell you about Bordeaux’s vineyards and test your wine knowledge. You’ll discover firsthand some of the region’s scenic beauty.

2:30 PM Wine tour of a Grand Cru or Grand Cru Classé Château (top growth winery) learning about the various stages of the winemaking process and tasting its distinguished wines.

3:45 PM Arrival in the village of Saint-Emilion. Take a short guided walk along the charming streets and tasting local wines at a wine shop (optional).

5 PM Tasting at a family-owned winery in either the Saint-Emilion Grand Cru or Pomerol appellation. Expert tasting followed by a last glass of wine served with local delicacies.

7 PM Back to Bordeaux in front of the Tourist Information Office.

Excellent tour, excellent guide, excellent wine

I went on this wine tour as a solo female traveler (I was one of two solo female travelers in our group) and found it very enjoyable. The small group format makes it much more comfortable and less intimidating than a large group tour. Our guide, Geoffrey, was extremely knowledgeable and personable, and he shared many interesting stories and facts about French wine culture and wine making. If you have a chance to go during the harvest, do it! It was amazing to get to taste merlot and cab franc grapes straight from the vine, and to see how they are processed. If you enjoy complex red wines, then you will very much enjoy the tastings, as I did. The visit to Saint-Emilion town is short but great for seeing the pretty medieval village. The weather was warm on the day of our trip, and based on my past experiences getting overheated on other excursions with different companies, I was worried about whether it would be uncomfortably hot. I needn't have worried; Geoffrey and the winery hosts did a great job keeping the van air conditioned and keeping us mostly in the shade, and it ended up being very comfortable and fun. I highly recommend this trip for interesting facts and great wine.

We would recommend this tour to friends and family....our guide Marot was amazing and really enhanced the experience...we had so much fun and the 2 chateaux we visited were beautiful and the wine was excellent !
