Entrance to the Bordeaux Wine and Trade Museum

From 12€ / pers

Housed in an 18th-century merchant's house, the museum will introduce you to the history of the port of Bordeaux, followed by the evolution of wine-making techniques and tools. At the end of your visit, learn about the Bordeaux vineyards during a guided tasting of two wines.

  • Presentation of the vineyard and guided tasting of two wines included in the entrance ticket
  • Reduced rates for students, job seekers, and persons with disabilities
  • Free entrance for children under 6 years old

From Antiquiety to the 20th century, discover the evolution of the city of Bordeaux and its commercial port, open to the world. Follow in the footsteps of the merchant families who settled in the Chartrons district and played a major role in the prosperity of the Bordeaux vineyards, making them a world-renowned reference.

Through objects and documents from the period, the permanent collection of the Wine and Trade Museum teaches you about the evolution of different techniques and tools related to wine: barrel ageing, the evolution of bottles, labels and the fashions that followed.

Visitors can explore the museum independently, using a paper guide (provided at the museum reception) or an audio guide (which works with your phone by scanning the QR code).

At the end of your visit, one of the wine tourism guides will accompany you and explain the Bordeaux vineyards and their appellation system during a guided tasting of two wines.

The tours are suitable for children, with grape juice tasting.
