Bilingual Tour ok
We did not understand that the tour would be both in French and English. The tour guide knew his material, but was difficult to hear since we didn’t have hearing boxes, the city traffic was very loud including jack hammers and some people in the tour talked among themselves when the guide was speaking in the language they didn’t speak… this was true for English as well as French speakers.
It really was only a one hour tour, that required 2 hours of attention and standing.
It could have been so much better or shorter. A bit disappointing, regretfully.

Two Bordeaux Treasures
The Porte Cailhau and the Musee de Aquitaine are an excellent window into the history of Bordeaux and the Aquitaine region. Seeing both places makes a complete history of that part of France.

A good wine tour
Hostess was very good and knowledgeable on both local wine and history. Very articulate and provided interesting commentary but not overpowering . .
It would have been better to get to taste a few more wines from the vineyards visited but overall very happy we did the tour

Great way to learn about Bordeaux
I would thoroughly recommend taking a tour of Port Cailhau. From the outside it is a very pretty photo opportunity, but within they have created a very interesting museum and tour in the renovated medieval gateway to the city. The interactive boards and speaking heads give insights into life through the ages and the views from the windows give a good perspective on the city. Overall great way to locate yourself in time and place in Bordeaux.

Not as fun as anticipated
Joined the tour to Medoc on Saturday and visited two vineyards. The tour was not as in depth as I thought. With explanation in both French and English, we just walked around and tried two wines in both locations.
