Excellent tour

The bus trip through the countryside was a nice experience to see something other than the cities. Our guide was very informative about the area and its history and about the wines. We thoroughly enjoyed our excursion to Saint Emilion what a gorgeous town. Very photogenic. The highlight for me was the troglodyte church and the guides explanation. Wow it blew me away what a difference it made with him explaining the church and the frescoes etc. it took it to a whole new level. Wonderful. We enjoyed the winery visit and the tasting. He managed the dual languages to the group seamlessly, what a professional.

Incredible
David B Bennett 05/27/2025
The guide started with the Roman era and continued through the centuries. Although there was plenty of information about the opera house, the tour also included how the Opera House fit into the grand scheme. The guide had a good sense of humor and used old maps to drive home his points. There was good information, too, about the architect. It was very entertaining and informative.

A great way to get to know Bordeaux
Frederick Tuite 05/26/2025
Our tour was with Alcide who was very knowledgeable about Bordeaux, its history and its culture. He kept the tour lively and interesting alternating between English and French. I could understand the French so I can vouch for his translation and he balanced the two languages very well. We got a good idea of the part of the city he brought us to and had great stories to humanise the city and its people. We really enjoyed it and would highly recommend it.

Bilingual Tour ok
Barbara T Rushing 05/24/2025
We did not understand that the tour would be both in French and English. The tour guide knew his material, but was difficult to hear since we didn’t have hearing boxes, the city traffic was very loud including jack hammers and some people in the tour talked among themselves when the guide was speaking in the language they didn’t speak… this was true for English as well as French speakers. It really was only a one hour tour, that required 2 hours of attention and standing. It could have been so much better or shorter. A bit disappointing, regretfully.

Two Bordeaux Treasures

The Porte Cailhau and the Musee de Aquitaine are an excellent window into the history of Bordeaux and the Aquitaine region. Seeing both places makes a complete history of that part of France.
