Les Bateaux Bordelais

Les Bateaux Bordelais offers cruises departing from Bordeaux as part of a meal cruise, a cruise to the islands of the Estuary, or a commented walk with wine tasting. On board one of our three boats, discover the Aquitaine region, from the Garonne river to the famous vineyards of Bordeaux, passing by the quays classified as "UNESCO world heritage".

The staff were very pleasant. The river cruise was very short. Lunch was very average, dessert was the best part.

Enjoyable, but didn’t like the fact that it was used as a selling opportunity for a vineyard, also could have done with more commentary on what we were seeing.

Overall was very good. Upscale food prepared fresh on board. Food was delicious. Aperitif was just a single bite of food and drinks, other than still water, are not included, add’l fee for coffee, tea or wine. The tourist board suggested we be there at 7:30-7:40 but boarding does not begin until 8 pm and the boat departs at 8:30 pm. It was a bit rainy so we were boarded early. There were just a few tourist info comments throughout the ride leaving you to really enjoy the food and view by city lights. There is an outside deck to enjoy if the weather permits as well. If you want to sit by a window, book early and request a location (for a fee) . We did not and had a center aisle seat. However, we were up top which provided a great view. Our service was good but our waiter was very, very busy - so not a lot of connection with your wait staff, which is something I often enjoy when traveling to other countries.
