The freestanding bell tower of Saint-Michel, which the people of Bordeaux call 'La Flèche' (The Spire), rises 114 metres into the sky. The more courageous can climb 230 steps to the panoramic terrace at 47 metres for an unforgettable view over the city and the river.

Standing at 114 metres, the Saint-Michel Spire is the 4th tallest bell tower in France. A sporty visit with 230 steps to climb, but the reward is breathtaking: a panoramic terrace at 47 metres offering an unforgettable view over the city and the Port de la Lune!

From April to the end of October, the monument is open 7 days a week, 10 AM–1 PM / 2 PM–6 PM. Last climb 30 minutes before closing. Difficult accessibility (230 steps and narrow staircase). Self-guided visit.

Free on the first Sunday of each month (except July and August). Your ticket does not grant skip-the-line access, even during busy periods.

TOP TIP! Extend the experience: a paid entry to the Saint-Michel Spire gives you a reduced rate at the Musée d'Aquitaine (valid for 1 month upon presentation of your ticket).

The view is breathe taking and the stairs are doable. It’s worth to spend the time and energy to be on the top.
