Fun tour for first time visitors but not so much on wine
Shirley 06/29/2025
The guide was enthusiastic. Coach ride was comfortable and driver friendly. Easy to book and meet up directions were clear. The first part of the visit was to St Emilion but the village was way too crowded. The wine tour only took up the last 1.5 hours of the trip - I wish there was more of it. The vineyard was beautiful and we had a great tour around different areas. Even though I understand this was meant to be a bilingual tour, it doesn't make sense if the majority are English speaking tourists. The guide in the vineyard spoke more French than English. It will be better to provide an option for English only tours. All in all it is not really a wine tour. I would not recommend for wine enthusiasts.

Answer from Monsieur l'Office de Tourisme et des Congrès de Bordeaux Métropole

Dear Madame, Thank you for your feed back concerning this tour. Indeed the day you went on this tour was part of a busy long weekend. Although it is the most popular destination, St Emilion is only a small medieval village and not at all adapted to receive visitors all over the world. I hope you spended a nice time in the underground monolithic church and that also during your free time you managed to get away from the crowd. Concerning the language, we insist of proposing winetours in two languages in order to satisfy also french spoken tourists. Around 80 % of all winetours, organised by other companies and for sell on our websites are only guided in English. It would have been indeed a better choice for you. Sorry for this. Yours Faithfully, The Bordeaux tourist office.

A full afternoon in St Emilion
Niamh M 06/28/2025
A busy tour in St Emilion with a very knowledgeable guide. The visit to the Chateau was informative and definitely for those interested in the wine making process. We would have enjoyed a stop or a little free time in St Emilion to purchase a drink or something from the local shops to support the economy there.

Dear Niamh, We thank you for your feedback. Concerning the free time in the village, indeed the rather busy schedule of the excursion (transport from Bordeaux, visit of the winery and guided tour of the village and underground church) does not allow much time on site. However, we are pleased that you enjoyed this excursion and are looking forward to seeing you here again. The Bordeaux Tourist Office team

Booking was very easy on line. The tour began promptly at the appointed time and we were not disappointed. What a beautiful facility and our very knowledgeable Guide was great. He made us feel like we were attending a performance back in the early 1800s. I would definitely recommend a visit.

Don’t bother
kathleen reilly 06/23/2025
This was supposed to be a tour in English but French people joined and the guide spoke almost exclusively to them. The bits of English were disjointed and hard to follow (because he’d already explained it in French). I would not recommend.

Dear Kathleen, It is with regret that we read your review. We have noticed your feedback about the visit and thank you for it. In a quality concern, we sent your impressions to the guide to improve the quality of this tour in the future. Best regards.
