Blaye and Bourg
I liked the fortress. It’s good to combine a sight with a vineyard.
It was interesting to learn about a vineyard which follows strict guidelines around extra- bio wines.
Yes I’d recommend this tour.

We did not enjoy our tour that much. First we had trouble hearing the guide's voice because we went through very big spaces, the guide spoke very softly and fast and the echo made it very hard to follow the explanations. The guide also made lots of jokes that we didn't understand (french is not our first language). Also, the day we scheduled the tour nobody warned us that we wouldn't have been able to really visit the main room where the stage is because of some show rehearsals! We only saw it from behind the windows. What a shame!

Great overview
This was an enjoyable way to get a quick background and understand the history snd layout of the city. From here went off on our own to enjoy lunch and explore further

Wonderful tour with a great guide. His knowledge and send of humor made the tour so interesting and entertaining.

walking & exploring St Emillion was interesting and much better than I expected. The one wine tasting was pretty good too!

Very disappointing
We were at the starting point (outside tourist office) in good time but the guide had already departed without us! With the help of the tourist office staff we were able to track the guide and group down, but we were offered no apology or explanation.
The guide was very dismissive towards us and all other English speaking participants and we had the distinct impression that he was imparting more information to the French speakers than to the English speakers. We were also aware that he made reference to 'Les Anglais' when he was speaking to the French speakers and that whatever he said made them laugh.
Whilst the guide had the demeanour of a French 'Mr Bean' he did not make us laugh, nor did we feel very enlightened by the small amount of information he was able to impart.
Generally, the guide placed too much focus on the old buildings to the detriment of other topics such as culture and what makes the contemporary Bordeaux 'tick'. More importantly, he failed to convey his own enthusiasm for, or even interest in, Bordeaux.
