Through digital and interactive technologies, the Permanent Exhibition immerses you in the world of wine and celebrates vineyards from all over the world. A spectacular, original and unforgettable journey!
To enjoy free access to both the permanent exhibition and the belvedere for a wine tasting, the CityPass (not the voucher) must be validated at the ticket office of the Cité du Vin. Access will be refused automatically if the card has expired.

The digital art centre, located in the Bordeaux submarine base, will be presenting monumental exhibition. Good to know from 18/10/25, double programming but only one exhibition is included in the CityPass offer: choose between Egyptian Pharaohs OR Oceans. Check the opening times before you go.

With the Museum of Aquitaine, Bordeaux has one of the largest provincial history museums. The collections display Prehistoric times, Antiquity, the Middle-Ages, the 18th century (the city’s golden age), and other periods in time that make up the area’s rich past.

Retracing the evolution of customs administration, the museum’s collection lays out the history of customs policing using uniforms, tools, graphics, military objects and taxidermy.

Musée Mer Marine houses a rich private collection of art and historical objects, exhibited in a modern, stripped-back manner. The” MMM” presents treasures from naval heritage and educates visitors on - among other things - marine adventures, sailing facts, the beauty of nature, and saving the oceans.
The CityPass gives access to the permanent collection + the ‘Gallery’ room devoted to the great masters of the shore + the temporary exhibition ‘Save the Mermaids’.

Sage comme une image? Childhood in the eyes of the artist 1790-1850
An exhibition that explores the roles assigned to children and their representations in art in French society from 1790 to 1850. The exhibition is based on a fertile dialogue between the academic arts (painting and sculpture) and the then new medium of photography.
 

The museum allows visitors to take a close look at masters of European art (Matisse, Picasso, Renoir, Rubens...) as well as Bordeaux’s native painters (André Lhote, Odilon Redon…). The south wing is dedicated to classical 16th to 18th century painting and the north wing hosts 19th and 20th century art.

Located in front of the city hall gardens, the gallery hosts temporary exhibitions from April to October.

The journey through the museum is to propose a contemporary approach to natural history, accompanied by interactive mechanisms and a multimedia spectacle.
The permanent section presents around 3500 specimens in Hôtel de Lisleferme, where a space is to be totally dedicated to children under 6: “the Museum for little ones”.
 

Housed in a former warehouse for colonial goods, the Museum of Contemporary Art is dedicated to emerging contemporary work. Many exhibitions are put on throughout the year.

Behind the beautiful 18th century façade, you will discover a museum on the wine trade in the Chartrons district. This former trading house was built by an Irish wine-merchant. You will taste wine in the vaulted cellars.

Taking up residence in MÉCA- the new regional centre for the creative and cultural economy, designed by the architect Bjarke Ingels-, Frac Nouvelle-Aquitaine MÉCA presents contemporary art exhibitions. Only open during exhibitions. Program available online.

Through ancient maps, instruments, models and portraits of famous Bordelais (ship makers, adventurers, corsairs, etc.), this museum brings Bordeaux’s maritime past to life again, from Burdigala to the contemporary era.

Currently closed for works from 1 September to 3 October.

On the quays of Bordeaux, at the foot of the Chaban-Delmas bridge, Cap Sciences is the rendezvous of curious people of all ages. Enjoy exploring scientific phenomena.

Built between 1493 and 1496 on the site of an old defensive gatehouse, this was the main entrance to the city from the river for almost two centuries. While it was no doubt built as a defensive structure, the Renaissance brought with it a new architectural language: mullioned windows and sculpted decorations.A 23 metre high panoramic view of the river.

The Saint-André cathedral’s tower was built in the 15th century, and it was only in 1863 that a monumental statue of Our Lady of Aquitaine was raised on top. At the top of some 231 steps and from a height of 50 metres, this is undoubtedly the finest panoramic viewing platform in the city!

Built in 1878 for the Jewish Consistory of Bordeaux, the architect Charles Durand used an eclecticism which mingled medieval art with oriental references.

It is considered as one of the most beautiful synagogues in Europe.

This former property of the King of France Henri IV and his wife, the Queen Margot, has an amazing collection of furniture from different periods. The Château is still lived in by the Ducal family of Sabran-Pontevès. The Castle and its beautiful Park are listed as a Historical Monument.

Guarding the River Gironde, a square fort was built by Vauban. With the Citadel of Blaye and Fort Pâté it forms the barricade of the estuary.

This masterpiece of Romanesque art, known as the “beacon” of the Entre-deux-Mers region, is remarkable for its sculpture and its view. The abbey is a listed UNESCO monument and provides a lovely outdoor setting, where stone and nature comes together beautifully.

The philosopher Montesquieu was born, lived and wrote in this family estate. This gothic château is protected by its lake and the surrounding moat.

The fortress of Blaye was built in the 17th century by Vauban, famous engineer of King Louis XIV. This citadel, which overlooks the Gironde estuary, is listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The visit allows you to understand the genius of Vauban and to discover the defence system of the fortress.

Guided tour of the cloister and its underground galleries in which the Cordeliers sparkling wines are produced. The history of the quarries and the production method are explained in detail.
