Entertaining, best informative tour
A well-researched story regarding the history of the winery. Excellent explanation concerning the geomorphology of the soil and the modern production process. A very entertaining tour of the winery. Well done.

Don't bother, not worth the time or the money
We specifically booked an English speaking tour and the guide had enough basic English but not sufficient to make the tour informative enough.
The guide also seemed to have a very basic understanding of wine and wine making. It was as if she memorised what she needed to say and that was the extent of it.
The tasting at the end was perfunctory. There was no discussion about how the three different samples were made nor the differences to look for in the wine.
Of all the tours available, I'm truly sorry to have wasted our time and money on this one.

Not So Special Walking Tour
Short and not seeing anything special. Wine tasting at the end was just a gesture. the biggest problem was the Tour I signed up for was supposed to be in English but it was in French. I complained but they said I was wrong. I checked again after the Tour and I was correct; the Tour was advertised as being in English. So, they don't pay attention to their website. Spoiled my Tour. No refund. Be careful what you book with this group. Not worth it anyway.

Perfect way to spend an afternoon
The tour was interesting, informative and perfectly delightful. The tour guide was easy to understand and had a great knowledge of the regions and vineyards. The guide in the vineyard in Pomerol gave the most fascinating and details tour of the processes that was engaging and informative. Though I definitely want to learn more French just because I feel like there would have been even more passion and detail in the tour if I'd be able to hear it in the native language. The second vineyard I was slightly disappointed in as it was just a tasting with not much else to give about the vineyard and not much more to see other than the one room we were put in. However the final part of the tour was to be taken to Saint Emilion centre and let loose and the view, architecture, shops, everything was like stepping into a time capsule from the 11th and 12th century. We all wondered around in awe taking in every angle because it was absolutely incredible, indescribable.
As a whole I'd highly recommend this tour as for the price you get to try 7 different wines and listen to the beautiful history of some of Bordeaux's most famous wine appellations and vineyards

Great way to learn about Bordeaux
I would thoroughly recommend taking a tour of Port Cailhau. From the outside it is a very pretty photo opportunity, but within they have created a very interesting museum and tour in the renovated medieval gateway to the city. The interactive boards and speaking heads give insights into life through the ages and the views from the windows give a good perspective on the city. Overall great way to locate yourself in time and place in Bordeaux.
