An afternoon wine tour in Medoc

From 99€ / pers

Drive along the « Chateau Route » of the Medoc Region, pass by mythical appellations which made the reputation of the Bordeaux wines. This specific terroir produces powerful red wines. During the afternoon, enjoy the visit of two chateaux: a family run state and a classified Growth chateau of 1855!

  • Visit of two chateaux
  • Tasting of 4 wines
  • Tasting class
  • Aperitif with traditional french products
  • Professional and very friendly guide
  • Sightseeing along the chateaux route
  • Small group of 8 people

1:45pm: Meet your guide in front of the Girondins Column. Look for the sign "Bordovino - A la française Bordeaux". Leave Bordeaux & drive through the Chateau route of the Médoc. The guide will provide you with all the information about the Bordeaux & Médoc region.

2.45pm: Arriving in a charming and authentic family-run estate. Feel the intimacy and authenticity of a private chateau run by a passionate family for generations. In order to learn the steps of the tasting, participate to a workshop: identify red wine aromas, learn how to interpret the color and the smell and become an expert of the Bordeaux wines! At the end of the visit, you will enjoy some tasting of the château’s wines

4.30pm: Visit a Great Classified Growth estate. Visit the vineyards, the vat room and the cellars and enjoy some explanations about their wine making process, from the vine to the bottle. Finish the visit by a tasting of the estate’s wines while enjoying an aperitif with French delicacies (fresh bread, cheese, dried sausage…)

7:15 / 7 :30 pm: Back in Bordeaux.

A sunny afternoon in Medoc

Had a great experience, there were 6 of us on the tour, Remy our driver was very knowledgeable on both the area and wine production. The two Chateaux we visited (one being a 1855 Cru) were very different, the second, Lamothe-Bergeron had a very high tech visitor centre using light shows and holograms to illustrate the wine production. Great afternoon out, the sun was shining, wine and snacks were flowing, even if you are not a wine buff, this tour is equally enjoyable for all the family!

Wonderful tour of the Medoc region

Our group had a fun time learning about left bank Bordeaux wines, and of course sampling and tasting them! The wineries we visited were beautiful and made delightful wines. Our guide's restaurant recommendation for the night was absolutely delicious as well! Thank you so much for a fun day! (I forgot the name, so sorry, but we took the morning Medoc tour on June 9th)!

Excellent wine tour with great guide

We had an excellent guide, Theo, who was very knowledgable on all aspects of the wine making business in Bordeau. He brought along a scented game to help us understand how to describe the various scents of wines. He also brought along food for pairing with the wines. Appreciate the extra effort and interesting conversations we had. Thoroughly enjoyed the visits to the Chateaus, even though it could be a hit and miss as you do not get to know which chateaus you will be visiting before hand. We were quite lucky to be able to visit Chateau Malescasse, beautifully designed with exceptional wines. Overall, a very meaningful experience that I will recommend to friend.

It was a great afternoon, even if we are not wine experts we enjoyed the experience. The guide was very nice, speaking a good English. 100% recommended!

Our guide, Quentin, exemplified the perfect wine tour host. Knowledgeable, funny, and personable, Quentin led us through a lovely day of tasting. His expertise softened the tannins of a usual wine tour, and we received a First Growth experience for a table wine price! His ability to communicate a love for wine—whether to a wine novice or a Master Somm—is unparalleled. I cannot recommend this tour enough.

As my main man Larry David would say "Pretaay pretay pretay good!" Perhaps I would rate the Fun factor to the max if we got to smash grapes like they did in an I Love Lucy episode, but I digress, the trip was classy AF, the tour guide/driver was very knowledgeable and caring with our inquiries, sorry I forgot his name but the driver was magnificent AF, his experience driving around the backroads of Medoc was awesome, made us feel like we were on a French safari! The barrell rooms were so monumental and the multimedia tools they utilized was astounding. This is a professional crew that also knows how to have fun. Overall great tour, and would do it all over if I only could!
