Chateaux & Terroirs, on the Bordeaux wine road

From 45€ / pers

Do you have only a few hours to discover the Bordeaux wine country? Then this "flying visit" is just for you! Are you interested in seeing mythical châteaux in the Médoc? Famous estates in Saint-Emilion? The "golden" wines of Sauternes? Yes, but there is so much more! Bordeaux also has plenty of lesser-known appellations, small family estates, affordable wines, etc.

  • Tour conducted by official guides with professional card, in French and in English
  • A good overview for a first visit
  • Wine tasting at each chateau (quantity according to the French law)
  • Large group, depending on the season

With this tour you will discover this diversity during an afternoon session on Saturdays during the summer of the tourist season. The destination is Saint-Emilion, the name of a famous charming village and of delicious wines.

The tour includes a visit to one wine estate where you will learn about the winemaking process by discovering the vat room, the cellars with all the barrels, etc.. A tasting of 2 wines will be offered. Your guide will remind you at this point that you first of all taste wine with your eyes and nose!  The tour to Saint-Emilion includes one wine estate's visit and the underground church in the Saint-Emilion village.

 Departure at 1:30pm / return at 6:30pm

Very good and entertaining tour! Top guide!!!

Only problem is that at the time of booking, you should watch out because the walking tour is free if you buy the Bordeaux City Pass but you cannot make a reservation for the walking tour without making a booking for the tour itself and there you cannot register your City Pass... Not very logical. The people at the Tourist Office seem to be aware of the issue and give a refund if you happen to make such a double booking.
Great way to get an overview of Bordeaux

Fun and very informative tour. The guide was excellent. Very knowledgeable and funny. A great way to start our stay in Bordeaux. Highly recommend.
Interesting but challenging for English speakers
S.B. 10/26/2021
Booking was easy. Our tour guide was wonderful and very knowledgeable. I know it's a challenge to lead a bilingual tour. For the French speakers, everything was clear and interesting. For the English speakers in our group, it was very difficult for them to follow as the guide would say half a sentence in French, translate into English, and back again into French throughout the tour. I think the pace was too fast for them to follow. If you understand some French, maybe you won't have this problem!

Good introduction to the history of Bordeaux
Joseph Lacovara 10/19/2021
The tour provided a good introduction to the history of Bordeaux, however I wish that the guide spoke more in English. Unfortunately most of our tour was given in French and there wasn't enough English explanation so it wasn't as easy to follow along. It would be better if the tours could be separate so that there is an English only tour and a French only tour so that the guide has more time to explain the history in each language.

Bilingual tour

I loved this tour. It provides interesting information on the history of Bordeaux and its sites. The bilingual nature was especially good for me because I am studying French. The guide was knowledgeable and helpful. I definitely recommend it.

Good overview of right bank Bordeaux wines,
Peter Flynn 09/30/2021
The tour was easy to book and well organised. The balance of the visit to Saint Emilion village, and a chateaux to hear about the wine making process, was good. At the village there was the option of a walking tour including looking at an underground church, or exploring on ones own. It would have been useful if the second option had been known in advance, along with the time available. We would certainly have used the time to have something to eat, and sample the wine. St Emilion like similar places in many countries has become ‘Disneyfied’. It is very attractive but consists almost entirely of opportunities to sell wine and crafts to tourists. The chateaux visit was very good with wine production being explained very clearly, and with an informative tasting to illustrate the effect of different terrors. The tour guide was excellent and provided a lot of background on the way to and back from St Emilion. Overall a very enjoyable and informative tour, which we would recommend particularly if you don’t have time for a longer, small group option.
Izlet u vinariju

Nice way to explore St. Emillion
Jason White 09/30/2020
Good guide and comfortable bus. Guide was knowledgeable and professional. Short but concise tour and wine tasting. You must chose from following the guide in St. Emillion or doing your own thing. Would recommend for those without car that want to do a wine tour.
