Les Crus Classes de Graves

115 € / adult

Located at the gateway to Bordeaux, the Graves great growth châteaux really know how to welcome visitors – as amply proved by this short gourmet adventure.Considered as the cradle of Bordeaux wines, the Graves and Pessac-Leognan appellations South of Bordeaux are also the closest to the city.

  • Visit 2 chateaux with an official guide with a professional card
  • Taste dry white wine and red wine
  • Enjoy lunch in a château and learn how to pair wine with food
  • Learn about the winemaking process

Every Thursday, two châteaux belonging to the 1953 classification of great growths* will provide you with experience matching wine and food. This option has three advantages: it is close to the city, very intense, and also rather brief, since you will be back in Bordeaux by 3 pm.

The red and white wines are suited to just about all foods. The reds are wonderful with both traditional and modern cuisine, while the whites have the unusual ability to age well.

The first visit at 10am includes a cellar tour and a tasting of wine with cheese, chocolate, dried fruit, or nuts as the château owners prefer.

The second visit at 11:30am is followed by lunch. These estates, some of which are world-famous, extend a warm, relaxed welcome to visitors. Lunch will be served at the table in a traditional French style!

Your return to the city centre at 3:00pm will leave you plenty of time for further discoveries!

Departure from the Bordeaux Tourist Office at 9:15am, return 3:00pm

A good opportunity to discover a famous wine region of France
Jeff M 09/14/2019
Interesting tour of the region covering three chateaux and an opportunity to taste a variety of wines. The coach from central Bordeaux was comfortable and the bi-lingual tour guide on board was clearly highly knowledgeable and passionate about the region. The setting of the first vineyard was stunning. The lunch at the second vineyard was excellent and we were fortunate to have the host of that chateau on our table who was fluent in both English and French describing how she came to be an expert in this industry. The third visit was also nice but perhaps the day was beginning to stretch at that stage, possibly due to the effect of the long lunch! Nevertheless, would certainly recommend.
Fantastic Tour!

My wife and I enjoyed the tour very much. Tour guide was very knowledgable and kept us informed and entertained. The vineyard tour was also lovely, and the wine was fantastic. Great value and highly recommended. Thank you!
Excellent value wine tour

Wonderful afternoon in the Medoc region. Knowledgeable guide. Both wineries we visited were beautiful, with interesting tours and delicious tasting. I really don't think you could find a better value wine tour from Bordeaux. We also had the Bordeaux City Pass which meant we got an additional discount
High expectations, bad results
Juan Antonio Rivera 09/08/2019
I've bought a ticket to Blaye & Bourg, ended in Entre-deux-Mers. Apparently every ticket says "Chateaux & Terroirs" without specifying where you should go. From a total of 6 wines we tasted, only one was red. I wouldn't pay 42 euros again for the tour.

Answer from Visiter Bordeaux

Dear Sir, We thank you for your message. As you can see in the description above, the destination is different every day. Your visit was booked for tuesday, September 3. The destination planned on tuesday is Entre-deux-Mers, an appellation famous for its white wines. According to the schedule, Blaye and Bourg is planned on Mondays. We are sorry for this misunderstanding, and regret that this tour didn't fit your expectations. Best regards - Bordeaux Tourism Office Team
A fine wine

A lovely experience with an enthusiastic and very knowledgeable guide . The trip proceeded very smoothly and the winery experience was very enjoyable and the only difficulty was putting down our wine glasses and leaving! Highly recommended.
Exceptional Wine tour close to Bordeaux city
Tony O'Connell 08/29/2019
The people involved in the tour were most informative and friendly. The tour of the Chateau was most interesting and I learned a lot. The wine tasting was very comprehensive. The visit to the wine bar was a treat. The owner was as amusing as he was knowledgeable. Booking was simple online, with a reduction for holders of the Citypass. It was the best morning I spent in Bordeaux and I didn't want it to end. The highlight of my visit to Bordeaux and I have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone visiting the city.

Fantastic tour in Graves
Karin Wastring 07/14/2019
Great tour with professional guide, we visited two estates and the lunch was fantastic.
Superbe visite ! A faire absolument
